CHATHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — The Glenwood Titans are off to a remarkable beginning in their quest to defend the Class 3A state softball title, boasting an impressive 17-1 record.

A significant factor in their success is the talented roster, featuring several players who have committed to Division I colleges, including three who will continue their athletic journeys in the Big Ten Conference.

Among these players, Ryleigh Kiel has signed with Penn State, Hope Gilmore is set to join Purdue, and Ava Bobb is committed to playing for Wisconsin.

The combination of depth and exceptional talent has fostered confidence among the Titans, as they aim for another successful postseason run.

“Each player brings unique skills to the team,” Gilmore expressed. “There’s no weak link.” She added, “Even if someone gets injured, another teammate is ready to step up because we all excel. There’s complete trust among us.”

Glenwood is also focused on not taking any team they face lightly.

“We’re going to play the same every day,” Bobb said. “We’re going to give our best every day and not go down to the level of our competition, so no matter who we’re playing, we’re going to bring it from the beginning.”
