Scattered Sunday Storms Expected Before Dry Air Returns

ORLANDO, Fla. – Moisture lingering behind the remnants of Isaias will keep Central Florida unsettled for one more day, with scattered downpours giving way to a much more pleasant workweek weather pattern.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms will gradually fade after sunset. By around 10 p.m., most of the activity should be located north and east of Central Florida, although a stray shower cannot be ruled out through midnight. Skies will turn mainly dry overnight. Rain chances will increase again Sunday morning in Marion County as a broken band of showers and storms tied to the leftover moisture moves in from the north and west. Overnight lows will settle in the mid-70s.

Sunday

The broken line of storms arriving in Marion County Sunday morning will gradually track south and east throughout the day. By lunchtime, scattered showers and storms will become more common around the Orlando metro area and along the I-4 corridor. Activity will shift toward Interstate 95 and the Space Coast during the midafternoon before fading near sunset.

Next Week

A drier air mass will begin moving into Central Florida Monday morning as high pressure strengthens across the northern Gulf Coast. The change will bring lower rain chances, reduced humidity and slightly cooler temperatures. Afternoon highs are expected to remain near the upper 80s during the workweek, while overnight lows dip back into the upper 60s by Tuesday morning and stay there through the latter half of the week.
