Sunday

This Sunday promises a familiar weather pattern, as southern moisture combines with a trough dipping into the Southeastern region. The morning begins dry and sunny, perfect for outdoor plans. However, be prepared for high temperatures reaching the low to mid-90s, with heat indices soaring between 100-105°F. As the day progresses, expect showers and thunderstorms advancing from west to east. Storms will initiate near the I-75 corridor between 11 a.m. and noon, moving into the I-4 area by around 2 p.m., before finally making their way to I-95 by late afternoon. Thankfully, these storms are expected to dissipate by sunset.

Moisture lingers to start the work week.

Week Ahead

As we start the new week, the presence of moisture ensures increased chances of rainfall on both Monday and Tuesday. These storms will largely result from afternoon sea breezes and could linger, potentially hampering the evening commute.

Ridge of high pressure and Saharan Dust dry Central Florida out and heat us up.

Expect changes by mid-week as a high-pressure ridge forms over Florida, coinciding with the arrival of Saharan Dust. This combination will diminish rain opportunities to about 20-30%, while simultaneously propelling temperatures into the mid to upper 90s as the week draws to a close and we head into the weekend.
