EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A wave of severe weather wreaked havoc across Effingham County on Wednesday evening, leaving several residents with injuries.
Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum reported that emergency crews were dispatched to handle a multitude of storm-related crises, particularly concentrated in the areas of Shumway and Siegel. The incidents ranged from homes suffering extensive damage and structures collapsing to vehicle accidents, downed power lines, gas leaks, and obstructed roadways.
