SAVANNAH, Ga. – After a cloudy start to the day, sunshine is expected to break out this afternoon, giving the final weekend of 2025 a spring-like feel rather than a winter chill. Typically, this time of year sees average daytime highs around 62 degrees and lows near 41 degrees. However, today’s temperatures are forecasted to soar 15 to 20 degrees above those averages, with highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees across the region. This could potentially break or match the record high of 78 degrees set in 2021. Tonight will be cool, with partly cloudy skies and overnight temperatures dropping to the upper 50s, still significantly warmer than usual.

The warm weather pattern will persist into Sunday, with a blend of sun and clouds and temperatures climbing into the mid-70s. As we move into Monday, clouds will thicken as a new cold front approaches. While this system may bring a few light showers, temperatures will stay about 10 degrees above average, with highs in the low 70s.

Following the cold front, a noticeable drop in temperatures is expected from late Monday into Tuesday. Monday night will see lows plummeting to around freezing, and Tuesday’s daytime highs will struggle to reach the low to mid-50s. Cold mornings will persist into New Year’s Eve, with temperatures dipping to or below freezing and afternoon highs lingering in the low to mid-50s.

Those planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve outdoors should prepare for frigid conditions. Temperatures around midnight are expected to hover near freezing. On New Year’s Day, conditions will remain on the cooler side but closer to seasonal norms, with highs reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s.
