MELBOURNE, Fla. – Authorities in Melbourne are currently probing the case of a body discovered in the Intracoastal Waterway on Tuesday.

The body, identified as an adult male, was located in shallow waters adjacent to a barrier wall on the northern side of the Melbourne Causeway.

According to the police, the man maintained a campsite on the riverbank just west of where his body was found. Efforts are underway to contact his next-of-kin after confirming his identity.
