SWAT team called to deal with barricaded person on Hunter Street in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County SWAT team responded to the scene of a barricaded subject on the 1400 block of Hunter Street in Augusta on Thursday.

According to police, the suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Terrell Crawford. Crawford was wanted on multiple charges, including:

  • Felony Theft by Taking
  • Burglary in the First Degree
  • Criminal Attempt Carjacking
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
  • Probation Violation for Aggravated Assault

Additional charges could be pending.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office tells us Crawford was taken into custody without further incident. He is being transferred to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
