According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, two investigations were issued by the Special Victims Unit. Both were teachers for the Spartanburg County School District 7.

The first incident occurred on February 17, at Mccarthy-Teszler School. 44-year-old Mary Simmons Dobbing had hit a special needs student, 17, in the head twice.

Deputies said other staff members had witnessed Dobbing hit the student and immediately reported it to the school resource officer.

Deputies said that incident was witnessed by other faculty and was immediately reported to the school resource officer. Wypych also confessed to doing so, according to deputies.
