Isabelle Zinko, aged 23, now faces a felony DUI charge stemming from a collision on March 16 that resulted in the death of 31-year-old Hailee Shackelfurd, a beloved mother of two.
Zinko was apprehended last Friday, marking a pivotal moment in the investigation surrounding the accident on Brickyard Point Road. The crash not only took Shackelfurd’s life but also left Zinko with serious injuries, including a broken neck, collarbone, ribs, and numerous other fractures.
In an effort to support Zinko’s extensive recovery process, her family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraising page highlights the daunting medical expenses she faces, noting her lack of health insurance and the continuous financial burden of her required treatments and care.
Meanwhile, a separate GoFundMe effort has been launched for Hailee Shackelfurd’s funeral expenses. The community has rallied together, raising over $60,000 to honor her memory and support her family in this difficult time.
Another GoFundMe was started to cover Shackelfurd’s funeral expenses, which has since raised over $60,000.
