BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in Beaufort County have apprehended two individuals in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on March 30 in Gray’s Hill, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office on Tuesday.
Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to reports of gunfire at the Hispanic Grocery and Deli, situated at 2706 Trask Parkway, on the day of the incident.
The incident involved an alleged exchange of gunfire between two individuals, leading to a vehicle and a nearby residence being hit by bullets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to officials.
Following an investigation, 25-year-old Jamori Allen and 19-year-old Jamarion Brant were identified as suspects.
Subsequently, arrest warrants were issued for both men. On April 2, officials conducted a search at Allen’s residence, resulting in his arrest. During the search, several weapons and a significant amount of marijuana were discovered, a BCSO spokesperson reported.
He is charged with two counts of malicious injury to property, aggravated breach of peace and possession of a machine gun.
Brant was arrested by Richland County Sheriff’s Office in Columbia on April 3 before being transported back to Beaufort three days later. Brant is charged with two counts of assault and battery in the first degree, malicious injury to property, aggravated breach of peace and possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a felony.
