Erika Kirk and Candace Owens have agreed to pause their public clash and move behind closed doors for a one-on-one meeting about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, after Owens publicly alleged that a top Turning Point USA figure told her Charlie warned, “They are going to kill me,” the night before he was murdered.
On the Jimmy Dore Show, Owens emphatically stated that she could say “1000%” Andrew Kolvet had told her the night before Charlie’s murder that Charlie Kirk texted him saying, “They are going to kill me.” She added that Kolvet was the one who received the text message from Kirk with that exact warning, stressing that she got this information directly from him. Kolvet had asked her to keep it off the record until Erika’s public comments implied Owens’ account was false.
In a recent conversation with Dore, Owens highlighted a contentious issue, stating that either Andrew Kolvet or Erika Kirk is not being truthful. Owens emphasized that she couldn’t determine who was lying, as she didn’t receive the text message in question. Furthermore, Owens mentioned that another source from Turning Point USA informed her that Dan Flood, a staff member, also received the same message. She described Kolvet as genuinely concerned, dismissing the idea that he fabricated the story within the 48 hours following Kirk’s death.
The controversy intensified after Owens disclosed her information, and Erika Kirk publicly denied the existence of any threatening messages on Charlie’s phone. In response to the uproar, Erika announced on X that she would meet with Candace Owens for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15. Erika expressed that both she and Owens agreed to pause any public discussions, including livestreams and social media posts, until after their meeting, hoping for a “productive conversation.”
In her own response, Owens conveyed her anticipation for the meeting, indicating her determination to address her questions directly with Erika. Owens’ focus remains on reconciling Kolvet’s alleged statements with Erika and Turning Point USA’s public denials, aiming to uncover the truth about Charlie’s final hours.
The decision to halt public exchanges until after their meeting highlights the potential significance of this discussion. Following the backlash to Owens’ revelations and Erika’s media tour denying any such death warning existed on Charlie’s phone, Erika announced on X that “Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15.” She said she and Owens “have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting,” and said she looks forward to a “productive conversation.”
Owens responded in her own post that she is “very much looking forward to this discussion,” signaling she intends to bring her questions directly to Erika rather than backing off the Kolvet claims. For Owens and her supporters, reconciling what Kolvet allegedly said with what Erika and TPUSA are now saying in public is a central test of who is being truthful about Charlie’s final hours.
