Fox News anchor Jesse Watters was among the distinguished guests at an opulent White House state dinner held in honor of King Charles and Queen Camilla on Tuesday.
Watters, aged 47, was accompanied by his wife, Emma DiGiovine, who, at 33, is a producer at the cable network. Their relationship began under controversial circumstances, as Watters was still married when they started dating.
The couple’s attendance at the event comes on the heels of renewed criticism following the circulation of an old video where Watters recounted how he won over DiGiovine.
In the clip, Watters humorously described his approach: “When I wanted Emma to go out with me, I let the air out of her tires,” he said, smiling.
“She couldn’t leave, so she needed a ride. I offered, ‘Need a lift?’ and she hopped right in,” he added.
The Fox News host later claimed that the story he told wasn’t true and that it was actually all a joke.Â
But Watters did get together with DiGiovine when she was working as an associate producer on his show Watters World, while he was still married to his ex-wife Noelle Inguagiato.
Watters informed the top brass at Fox News of their relationship in November 2017, and the network reassigned DiGiovine to a different show, The Five, where Watters now works.

Watters first started dating DiGiovine while he was still married to his ex-wife Noelle Inguagiato, the mother of his two daughters
Following the Fox News host’s marriage ending in 2019, he announced his engagement to DiGiovine.
They married later that year, and now have two children together.Â
The duo were joined at the state dinner by their colleagues at Fox News, including Bret Baier, Maria Bartiromo, Greg Gutfeld, Laura Ingraham and Fox & Friends co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Rachel Campos Duffy.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott was also in attendance for the historic dinner, which was being covered by the White House press pool.
It began with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump greeting the British royals at a brief ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, when Trump commended King Charles for his speech to Congress to the press.
‘He made a great speech,’ the president said. ‘I was very jealous.’Â Â
The First Lady chose to wear a pale delphinium pink silk strapless gown by Christian Dior Haute Couture for the dinner, with off-white Dior suede gloves and matching Dior pale delphinium silk pumps.
Queen Camilla, meanwhile, wore a deep pink gown by Fiona Clare with a historic necklace made from amethysts and diamonds, which was gifted by a former Duchess of Kent to Queen Victoria and then passed to Queen Mary.Â

Tuesday’s state dinner marks the first of the President’s second term.Â
Attendees were treated to a four-course meal starting with hearts of palm salad, served with a garden herb velouté, crisp toasted shallots and a ‘whisper’ of micro mint, the White House said.Â
After that, spring herb ravioli, featuring herbs from the White House Kitchen Garden – planted by First Lady Michelle Obama – will be served, filled with creamy ricotta, earthy morels and dressed with a light parmesan emulsion.Â
The main course is fish – Dover sole meunière, prepared in nutty brown butter and served with spring ramps, sweet snow peas over potatoes pavé and finished with parsley oil.
For dessert, the White House chose to showcase the on-campus beehive that the King and Queen visited on Monday, serving guests a beehive-shaped chocolate gâteau with vanilla bean crémeux custard, set inside an almond joconde.Â
The cake will be served with crème fraîche ice cream and the White House’s honey.Â

Trump only held two state dinners during his first term, with a third state dinner announced and then cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
Since at least 2010, he’s pitched the idea of building a White House ballroom, criticizing the tents First Lady Michelle Obama used to host her state dinners when she wanted to invite more guests than the East Room could hold.Â
Trump refused to use a tent during his first term, instead opting to hold his state dinners in the State Dining Room and then outdoors in the Rose Garden.Â
Tonight’s dinner is in the East Room.Â
The First Lady’s office said the decor was ‘inspired by the beauty of English gardens.’Â
Melania had the East Room decorated with trees and blossoming garden boxes filled with lilac.Â
Tables were dressed with green pleated linens and decorated with lilac, butterfly ranunculus, phlox and lily of the valley.Â
Both the Clinton and Bush china were used in the table settings.
