A VETERAN has shared how she quit her job and broke up with her boyfriend to live a life on the road.
Six months into her extended road trip, 26-year-old Brianna Walston has no regrets.

So far, the California native and her dog have visited Nevada, Utah, and Colorado, The Daily Mail reported.
“I have had an interest in van life for about seven years,” Walston told the outlet.
“The idea of exploring the planet has always interested me and I enjoy outdoor sports.
“I knew the best way to see the planet and unique locations would be to do it by car.”
She began the van life in March 2023 after quitting her military job and breaking up with her boyfriend, who she met while serving.
“After ending my relationship, I was no longer tied to a location or person and decided that this was the best time to do it,” Walston said.
“I get restless and don’t like being tied to a single location.

“My favorite part of living out of my Subaru is being able to leave when I want, go where I want and explore remote locations.”
Walston bought her 2018 Subaru Forrester for $22,000 and began the process of converting the vehicle’s rear into a living space.
The installation of a bed platform and storage drawers took just one day.
She also added a rooftop storage box to the car for items like clothing, bedding, and dog supplies.
The additions cost her less than $1,500.
Walston said she’s never felt uncomfortable as a woman traveling solo.
“I don’t get scared or feel uneasy traveling alone in my car as I have a dog that will alert me if she hears anything before I could hear it,” she said.
Walston has had the six-year-old Australian Shepherd since it was just a puppy.
“I keep myself armed with personal protection,” the traveler said.
She also loves to share pictures and videos from her adventure on social media.
Walston now has more than 43,000 followers on Instagram.
