Kylian Mbappe Enters Top 10 of All-Time Champions League Top Scorers List
  • Mbappe’s brace against Barcelona in the quarter-finals moved him from 46 to 48 goals in the Champions League, placing him in the top 10 of all-time scorers. This feat was accomplished in fewer games than Shevchenko and Ibrahimovic, who needed 100 and 124 games respectively to reach 48 goals.
  • Mbappe is now level with Shevchenko and Ibrahimovic, two of the most iconic players in AC Milan’s history, in terms of goals scored in the Champions League.
  • With Alfredo Di Stefano (49 goals) and Thierry Henry (50 goals) ahead of him, Mbappe has the opportunity to surpass these players and continue his ascent up the all-time scorers list.

Kylian Mbappe, the talented French forward, has left a notable mark on the Champions League by entering the top 10 list of all-time leading goal scorers after scoring twice at Camp Nou. This accomplishment elevated his total goals to 48, surpassing Eusebio and Filippo Inzaghi, and equalling the records of renowned players such as Andriy Shevchenko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Shevchenko, known for his time at Dynamo Kiev, Milan, and Chelsea, required 100 goals to achieve this milestone, whereas Ibrahimovic, who has played for clubs like Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, PSG, and Manchester United, scored 124 goals in the tournament. Remarkably, Mbappe, at just 25 years old, managed to achieve this feat in only 71 games, positioning himself among the top 10 goal scorers of all time, trailing just behind Alfredo Di Stefano and Thierry Henry.

Mbappe’s scoring prowess is evident through his impressive record of 42 goals in 62 matches for PSG and six goals in nine matches for Monaco. With Real Madrid icon Alfredo Di Stefano and Arsenal’s legendary striker Thierry Henry closely ahead at 49 and 50 goals respectively, Mbappe has the potential to climb even higher in the rankings. Should Mbappe make a move to Real Madrid, his future prospects in the Champions League could see him challenging the elite ranks of top goal scorers.
