Lawmaker Organizes ‘Moral Sit-In’ at Governor DeSantis’ Office: A Look at the Governor’s Response

In his final year as governor, constrained by term limits, Ron DeSantis (R) continues to be a focal point of criticism from Florida’s Democrats. His unwavering conservative stance and his track record of addressing key issues resonate with a significant portion of Floridians, amplifying his influence and sparking controversy.

Thus, it came as no shock when the Florida legislature approved a new congressional map on the same day the Supreme Court issued its ruling on Louisiana v. Callais. DeSantis wasted no time in signing the map into law. This sparked outrage among some Democratic state lawmakers, who accused the map of being unfairly representative and staged protests to voice their dissent.

One of the most vocal opponents was Angie Nixon, the state representative for District 13 in the Florida House, who is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate. As reported by RedState, Nixon made her presence felt by using a bullhorn in an attempt to disrupt the legislative proceedings.
