A county in Florida has commemorated President Trump by renaming a section of road as “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard.”
The White House’s Rapid Response 47 X account shared a video of Trump and Florida state Rep. Meg Weinberger (R) attending the ceremony in which the sign was unveiled.
As reported by The Palm Beach Post, this newly named stretch spans four miles of Southern Boulevard, connecting Mar-a-Lago to Palm Beach International Airport, and is now marked with signs bearing the former president’s name.
During the unveiling ceremony, Weinberger, the legislation’s sponsor, expressed her pride in the initiative. She shared that shortly after the election, her husband inspired the idea to dedicate Southern Boulevard to Trump.
Trump was formally presented with the road markers during a gathering on Jan. 16 in the White & Gold Ballroom at his Palm Beach club just after he arrived from Washington for his 18th visit this term.
“President Donald J. Trump Boulevard now serves as an enduring symbol of courage, leadership, and unwavering patriotism,” Weinberger remarked. “I am grateful to have contributed to this significant recognition.”
“I am honored to stand before you as the sponsor of the legislation that established President Donald J. Trump Boulevard,” Weinberger said during the ceremony. Weinberger added that “just after the election,” her husband suggested that she “rename Southern Boulevard” after Trump.
In response, Trump acknowledged the honor, stating, “This extraordinary tribute will remain with me forever.”
“President Donald J. Trump Boulevard now stands as a permanent reminder for courage, leadership, and unapologetic patriotism,” Weinberger said. “I am proud to have played a role and to make that happen.”
During the ceremony, Trump expressed that he was “tremendously honored” that part of the road was renamed in his honor, adding that he loves “the people of Florida.”
“I’ll remember this amazing gesture for the rest of my life,” Trump added.
