Jennifer Rauchet, the wife of U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, turned heads with her fashion choice at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The Saturday evening event took a dramatic turn when a gunman attempted to target members of the Trump administration, but before the chaos, guests made quite an impression on the red carpet.

The event was a who’s who of influential figures, featuring President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and FBI Director Kash Patel, all dressed impeccably for the occasion.

Among the attendees were Pete Hegseth and his wife Jennifer, 41, whose outfit quickly became a talking point.

Jennifer captivated onlookers in a form-fitting, blush pink dress adorned with elegant pink silk off-the-shoulder accents.

The waist was decorated with a silk sash and gunmetal-colored sparkling brooch. She paired the look with a blush pink bag covered in flower petals and chunky, braided metallic silver heels which appeared to be previously sold by Steve Madden.

To top off the look, the former Fox News producer wore her hair in an updo and donned both diamond earrings and a diamond necklace.

But it seems like instead of donning a designer gown, Jennifer kept things casual as her dress is currently listed for sale on fast fashion site Shein for $42.

It was also previously available on Temu – an online e-commerce site that often sources products from factories in China – for just $14 and on Amazon, according to the Daily Mail’s search.

Her affordable look is going viral on social media, with many speculating on X (formerly Twitter) that she may have purchased the gown from Temu.

‘An absolute baller move!’ wrote Fox News contributor Joey Jones online.

Someone else typed: ‘I respect the hell out of that. I shop used clothing to save money.’

‘Had she shown up in something expensive, even from Saks, they would have complained too,’ another user pointed out.

‘If this is true, how cool it shows that anybody can dress as nice as she does,’ one person commented.

Jennifer has not confirmed whether or not her dress was from Temu or Shein or was purchased elsewhere.

But what was supposed to be a great evening turned terrifying very quickly.

California teacher Cole Tomas Allen, 31, allegedly mocked the lack of security at the event and on his journey to DC in his chilling manifesto sent moments before he opened fire at the Washington Hilton on Saturday.

Surveillance footage showed Allen attempted to bolt past a security checkpoint while armed with a shotgun, a handgun and several knives.

He exchanged fire with Secret Service agents before they tackled him to the ground and arrested him. One agent was struck in his bulletproof vest and is expected to recover. No one else was harmed.

Allen’s manifesto, which was published in full by the New York Post, detailed his reasoning for the attack, his ‘rules of engagement’ and a ‘rant’ about how little security he encountered.

‘What the hell is the Secret Service doing?’ Allen wrote in a postscript to his manifesto.

‘I expected security cameras at every bend, bugged hotel rooms, armed agents every 10 feet, metal detectors out the wazoo. What I got (who knows, maybe they’re pranking me!) is nothing,’ he continued.

The radicalized teacher described a ‘sense of arrogance’ at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the dinner was held.

‘The security at the event is all outside… because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before,’ Allen wrote.

He said that the security was so lacking that, ‘if I was an Iranian agent, instead of an American citizen, I could have brought a damn Ma Deuce in here and no one would have noticed sh**.’

Ma Deuce is a nickname for the M2 Browning .50-caliber machine gun.

Earlier in his manifesto, Allen explained why he had attempted to break into the dinner and kill top Trump administration officials.

‘I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes,’ he wrote, likely in reference to President Donald Trump. He said that as a citizen of the US, what his representatives do reflects on him.

The suspected shooter added that he had wanted to take action for a long time, ‘but this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to do something about it.’

Federal prosecutors have announced that Allen is being charged with two counts of using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.
