DISGRUNTLED shoppers have blasted Target over its inclusive holiday decorations with some vowing to “never go back.”
Target recently released its festive range complete with a nutcracker bearing the Pride flag and a Santa in a wheelchair.
The ornaments, however, have divided shoppers, with political commentator Benny Johnson hitting back.
Johnson shared one post on social media claiming Target’s stock had dropped and claimed this was due to the retailer offering the holiday merchandise.
“Target’s stock has dropped 14% YTD. They lost billions in market cap,” he wrote.
“This is what happens when you take a brand that should be for families, but you use it as a propaganda arm for radical ideologies that target children.”
His followers largely agreed, with one person writing: “I stopped shopping there this year. Never going back #bantarget,” one user commented on the post.
“Never going back to target- dead to me,” another replied.
However, others disagreed, insisting they would go out to buy the nutcrackers specifically, just to show their support.
“I think I’ll go spend a few hundred dollars there tomorrow,” wrote one customer.

“Why are they against Santa in a wheelchair? I feel it could be sent to children’s hospitals,” another X user wrote.
Someone else pointed out that Target was not the only retailer selling nutcrackers waving Pride flags.
“Walmart sells pride nutcrackers too so don’t forget to boycott them,” they wrote. “And yeah, since that’s the only place left to shop in most red states you guys are kinda in a pickle. Good luck!”
Johnson felt that Target hiring LGBTQIA+ corporate strategist Erik Thompson, referred to by some conservative outlets as “Gay Cruella” after his Instagram handle, was directly responsible for the merchandise.
“For $63 you can own a 15” wooden gay pride nutcracker,” Johnson wrote.
“Apparently, Target didn’t learn their lesson,” he continued.
Target had faced significant backlash earlier this year, after Pride month, when some customers complained about the retailer selling transgender friendly swimsuits.
Joe Rogan ranted on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience about the controversy, complaining about the move.
Rogan argued that the efforts by retailers to market to the LGBTQIA+ community are “too much” and customers are allegedly fed up.
“We’re seeing that now. But we never saw that before where people are going ‘Enough. Enough. Stop shoving this down everybody’s throat,'” Rogan said.
The Sun has reached out to Target for comment.
