On Wednesday, President Trump announced an end to the ceasefire with Iran, expressing a firm stance against future negotiations. He characterized Iran’s leaders in stark terms, calling them “scum,” “liars,” “cheats,” and “sick people” with whom he no longer wishes to engage.
These sharp remarks followed U.S. airstrikes targeting over 80 sites in Iran. The military action was a direct response to Iran’s alleged attacks on commercial vessels in the vital region.
In a press briefing in Ankara, Turkey, President Trump expressed his unrestrained views about Iran’s leadership. The comments came in response to a reporter’s query regarding the status of the ceasefire and whether the memorandum of understanding was no longer valid.
“From my perspective, the ceasefire is finished. I have no interest in engaging with them anymore. These people are scum. You know what scum is? They’re sick individuals, led by sick minds, and they’re violent and ruthless,” Trump asserted. He went on to warn, “If they possessed a nuclear weapon, they wouldn’t hesitate to use it.”
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s done,” Trump declared.
