Former President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Vivek Ramaswamy in the race for Ohio governor, lauding Ramaswamy as “something SPECIAL” and describing him as a “very good person” with a deep love for the United States.

In a statement shared on the Truth Social platform, Trump highlighted Ramaswamy’s commitment to cutting taxes and regulations if elected. He expressed confidence that Ramaswamy would work tirelessly to stimulate economic growth and ensure the security of the southern border, among other priorities.

“Vivek Ramaswamy will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement—HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump declared in his post.

Following the submission of his campaign documentation, Ramaswamy officially announced his candidacy for Ohio governor. He pledged to lead Ohio towards becoming a “state of excellence,” marking the start of his bid for the state’s top leadership position.

Ramaswamy, who was a Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential race, filed paperwork in February to run for governor of Ohio in the state’s upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election.

After filing paperwork for his gubernatorial campaign, Ramaswamy announced that he is running to be the state’s next governor and stated that he would “lead Ohio to be the state of excellence.”
