After months of anticipation and sparking controversy among familiar critics, the Trump administration revealed designs in mid-April for a so-called “triumphal arch.” This 250-foot monument is proposed for construction in Washington, D.C., to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

According to RedState, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that, “As we mark America’s 250th birthday this year, President Trump, alongside the Department of the Interior, will present plans for the United States Triumphal Arch. This architectural marvel will honor our nation’s history right in the heart of Washington, D.C.”

Leavitt further explained that the monument is intended to “occupy what is currently an open green space in Memorial Circle on Columbia Island, a man-made island in the Potomac River under the stewardship of the National Park Service.”

In previous reports, it was noted that three designs had been proposed to President Trump for consideration. Unsurprisingly, he opted for the most grandiose and ambitious design.

As we also reported, three plans had been submitted to President Trump for review. He, of course, picked the biggest and boldest one.
