It has been reported that Prince Harry is keen on making a rare public appearance alongside his father, King Charles, in the coming year.

The Duke of Sussex, now 41, stepped away from his role as a senior working royal back in 2020, subsequently relocating to California with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. Since then, Harry has made selective trips back to the UK, returning for significant events such as Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in summer 2022 and her funeral later that same year. More recently, he paid a brief visit for King Charles’s coronation in May 2023.
However, a new report suggests Harry wants to appear alongside his father at his Invictus Games in Birmingham, England in 2027. A source told The Mirror newspaper: “Harry’s intention is two fold. He would love the King’s support at the Games, while having his father by his side would also add considerable weight to his argument for security for his family to accompany him on the trip.”
Another insider added: “Next year is a big deal for Harry. He is determined that the Birmingham Games will be the best ever and it would mean the world to him to have his father there.”
No images were released from the reunion, and no further details will be provided, as it was a "private family occasion”, the palace said.
The meeting marked the first time Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been in the UK since June 2022, when they travelled over to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth.
The July trip was overshadowed by a furore over Harry's accommodation at Buckingham Palace, which fell through after he reportedly failed to give enough notice about his plans and he had to stay elsewhere.
However, he's said to be due back in the country in September to attend a series of engagements around the WellChild Awards, which are being held in London later this year, and Harry has reportedly been offered another chance to stay at the palace in the UK capital.
The Sun newspaper reported Harry "will accept the fresh offer to stay at the Palace well in advance this time".
