The crossover boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou became an iconic event. The event held in Saudi Arabia pulled all the stops to make it one of the best events in recent memories. The fight ended in a split-decision victory for Tyson Fury. However, Ngannou stole the show with a knockdown.

Both fighters had a phenomenal entrance to kick off their match. The fight started with early momentum for Tyson Fury. However, Ngannou started to find the rhythm in round two. Francis Ngannou knocked Fury down with a counter-left strike. Fury came back to win the fourth round. Despite Ngannou looking gassed after the fourth, he did not give up.

The Predator continued to find range and strike Fury with counters. After the fifth round, both fighters had their moments. However, neither one showed supremacy. In the final round, both fighters had a standstill. They did not trade punches at all. Eventually, it came down to the judges’ scorecard. One judge scored it 95-94 for Ngannou. The other two scored 96-93 and 95-94 for Fury.

The fight had a diverse reaction from the fans. Some thought Fury won. However, a majority thought that Ngannou deserved to win. Canelo Alvarez put out a shocking emoji. LeBron James and Nate Diaz sided with Ngannou. The scorecard will surely become a matter of debate in the coming days.

As soon as the bout ended, fans went on the internet to react to the main event. They could not hold back their disappointment upon witnessing what had happened. They had a similar sentiment to that of LeBron James and Nate Diaz. Check out some of the reactions:

Henry Cejudo also gave his nod to Ngannou. An overwhelming majority of the fans scored the fight for Ngannou. The 10-8 round in the third makes a case for Ngannou’s victory, as most of the bouts were close. A rematch between the duo would be a big moneymaker for both fighters.
