Manchester United have announced the Donny van de Beek has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the rest of the season.
The Dutchman joined United from Ajax in 2020 but has endured a torrid time at Old Trafford since his £40million deal was completed.
Van de Beek has made just six Premier League starts for United across three-and-a-half seasons, featuring 62 times in total.
He has made two appearances this season, both of which came against Crystal Palace in the league and Carabao Cup.
With the January transfer window now open, the 26-year-old has finalised a loan switch to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
The majority of Van de Beek’s wages will be covered by the German side, who are paying United a loan fee too.
Eintracht Frankfurt also have the option to buy the midfielder on a permanent deal worth around £9.5m plus £2.6m in add-ons.

They currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga and are in the Europa Conference League play-offs, where they will face Union Saint-Gilloise.
Van de Beek has struggled with various injuries throughout his time at United, with appearances lacking as a result.
He played 36 matches across all competitions in his debut season but could muster no more than 14 in following campaigns.
The Dutch international has scored just two goals since his arrival in 2020 after an excellent stint at former club Ajax.
Van de Beek’s loan is his second away from Old Trafford after he spent the second half of the 2021/22 season at Everton.
With Euro 2024 set to kick-off in the summer, his latest loan move will offer him to chance to prove why he should receive a call-up with the Netherlands.
United have kicked-off their January transfer business early although it remains to be seen if there will be any more outgoings or incomings.
