Miami WILL win the series and beat Boston in Game 7, insists Heat coach Erik Spoelstra – despite agonizing Game 6 loss: ‘I don’t know how we’re going to get this done, but we will’

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra cut a defiant figure on Saturday night despite his team surrendering a 3-0 series lead over Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Heat were two-tenths of a second from a series-clinching victory when Derrick White made a buzzer-beating putback to snatch victory for the Celtics with a 104-103 win.

It gives the Celtics a chance to become the first team in NBA history to claim series victory from 3-0 down and Game 7 on Monday night is going to be held in Boston.

But Miami are not intimidated, insisted Spoelstra.

‘It´s a seven-game series,’ the Heat coach said. ‘There´s nothing better than Game 7s.

‘I don’t know how we’re going to get this done, but we’re going to go out there and get it done.

‘And that’s what the next 48 hours is about. There’s been nothing easy about this season for our group, and so we just have to do it the hard way. That is just the way it has got to be.’

Miami’s star man Jimmy Butler endured an inconsistent night but his three free-throws in the final minute looked to have led his team to the final.

Then, with three seconds left, the Celtics struck and White struck with less than a second to go to make Game 7.

‘I think we had a lot of things covered in that play,’ Spoelstra added. ‘It has been one hell of a series.’

The Celtics are 27-9 in Game 7s, winners of their last four – including one in Miami last season and one earlier this season, against Philadelphia in the East semifinals.
