Real Madrid could be on the verge of forming what is being dubbed a ‘super team’ in order to continue competing for major titles.

Los Blancos are already arguably the most successful club side in the world, winning the Champions League 14 times and LaLiga 35 times – the most of any side in both competitions.

But they are somewhat entering a new era, with Carlo Ancelotti expected to step down as manager soon and a numbers of stars who have been so vital to their success over the last few years coming towards the end of their careers.

Mail Sport have looked at how Real Madrid could line up next season if the pair do arrive.

In goal, Thibaut Courtois will likely keep his place once he returns from his ACL injury. Neither Andriy Lunin or Kepa Arrizabalaga have impressed as understudies, and it’s likely the club can’t wait for their No 1 to return to action. His place is secure.

The defence could look a little different if Davies arrives from Bayern Munich. Davies will only have one year left on his contract, and will keep the average age down, with his cost will be covered by the departure of either Fran Garcia or Ferland Mendy.

While David Alaba and Eder Militao – who are both out of action with their own ACL injuries – will almost certainly be the first-choice centre-back pairing, there is a gap to fill at right-back.

The spot will likely be occupied by Dani Cravajal, but the 33-year-old will need replacing soon and will be one of the last remaining players of the old guard.

The midfield is set to be a familiar trio of Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham, three players already in place when it comes to the new era.

Brazilian pair Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr are too and will likely be first-choice out wide, and it is no secret that Madrid have been after a new striker for a while to take them back to the top of the European football pyramid. Step forward Mbappe.

And that just leaves the manager. Ancelotti has recently signed a new deal to take him through to 2026, though it’s likely that will be the end of the road.

Xabi Alonso is one of the most sought-after young managers in world football and could join Liverpool in the summer. Or he could wait for the Madrid job.

The thought of a super team being fully assembled and dominating Europe for years to come is an intriguing one. It will be a busy summer for Madrid.
