American star player Taylor Fritz was condemned by the Novak Djokovic fans for supporting the umpire on a hindrance call against the Serbian during the semi-final clash with Jannik Sinner. Though Djokovic was able to win the match in straight sets: 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (4), the call to give Sinner a point due to an extra grunt by the Serbian in the second set is still making a noise among the tennis world.

Fritz tweeted, “I can’t speak to this specific instance because I didn’t see it. Novak doesn’t come to my mind when I think of this rule, BUT some players I can think of extend/delay grunts A LOT on big points to put you off and it needs to be called more by umpires.”

The Djokovic fans, as expected, quote tweeted Fritz’s tweet calling him a “loser“. Some pointed out that there was no need for the American to interfere in this instance at all. “A match between two top players but still the “loser” Fritz can’t shut up,” wrote some other fans of the Serbian star.

Hence Fritz’s comment on the DjokovicSinner match was not considered by someone who has the right to comment on it, as per the fans of the Serbian Star. Some of the Twitter reactions are as below.

Despite Djokovic’s nonchalant attitude towards the hindrance call after the match, the tennis community on Twitter is buzzing over the incident, particularly due to Fritz’s remarks. The controversy surrounding the call has ignited a frenzy of discussions and debates among tennis fans, who are eagerly expressing their opinions and speculating about the implications of the incident.
