US men’s national team striker Brandon Vazquez has admitted he’s hoping to move to Europe in the next transfer window.

The 25-year-old, who has spent the last four seasons with MLS’ FC Cincinnati, scored nine goals throughout the regular season and playoffs this campaign.

But after Cincinnati’s elimination in the conference finals, Vazquez is eyeing newer pastures.

As reported by The Enquirer’s Pat Brennan, Vazquez indicated ‘that his goal is still to potentially’ join a European club this winter.

Vazquez reportedly said that Cincinnati has been supportive of his aspirations.

The next MLS season will begin in February.

Back in March, Vazquez spoke exclusively to Mail Sport and laid out his career goals.

‘Of course, my whole life I’ve always wanted to go to Europe,’ he said.

‘And for sure, that’s the next step that I want to take. But nothing’s for certain, so I know I just have to keep doing my job here at Cincinnati, and if that’s what’s meant to happen, then it’ll happen. But for now, I’m just focused on improving myself every single day.’

Around that time, Sky Germany reported that Borussia Monchengladbach was interested in Vazquez as a replacement for Marcus Thuram, who joined Inter Milan this past summer.

The American made his USA debut vs. Serbia in January, scoring in his first appearance.

He has eight caps and four goals in total for his country.

However, he was not included in Gregg Berhalter’s World Cup squad last year, and would likely hope that a Europe move gets him into the coach’s considerations.
