The Warriors-Hornets game on Friday night broke into a scuffle after a late layup attempt from Lester Quinones with the game already decided – with Draymond Green ripping into Grant Williams on and off the court.

The situation stemmed from Quinones deciding to shoot the ball with the Warriors up 11 with 12 seconds left. In fact, the game (which ended in a 97-84 win for the Warriors) was so over that Golden State coach Steve Kerr and Charlotte coach Steve Clifford were already shaking hands.

Quinones’ attempt was ruled a made basket after a goaltend from Miles Bridges, but the Hornets star made his displeasure clear as he bumped Quinones afterwards.

Quinones appeared to call the former Celtics and Mavs forward a ‘b***h’ multiple times, while Draymond Green later appeared to scream ‘f*** you’ at his opponent as well.

It also looked like Green called Williams a ‘p***y a**.’

Kerr was visibly bemused by the incident, holding his arms up in the air.

Quinones and Williams were both ejected afterwards, while Green and Stephen Curry could be seen making amends with Bridges and Seth Curry after the game.

Still, Green had words for Williams after the game.

‘Grant Williams gotta stop it, man,’ he said in his post-game press conference. ‘Being this tough guy is going absolutely wrong for him. He’s a really nice guy. And for some reason he keep on trying to jump on the unlikable side and I must tell you, it’s not always fun over here.

‘It’s not always a good time. I don’t know man, he need to figure it out. Talking too much kind of got you out of Dallas, like overdoing it. And he over there talking too much now.’

Green, well known for his history of suspensions and ejections, has missed 17 games this season due to suspension, including 12 after striking Jusuf Nurkic in the face.

Williams, meanwhile, was traded by the Mavs at the deadline, with ESPN’s Tim MacMahon saying afterwards on the ‘Hoop Collective’ podcast that he ‘rubbed a lot of people the wrong way’ in Dallas.

It remains to be seen whether Williams and Quinones will be suspended by the NBA.
