Their romance is etched in enduring ink.
Ariana Grande has once again expanded her impressive array of tattoos, debuting fresh ink during a show in London as part of her “Eternal Sunshine” tour. Observant fans spotted that the pop star, aged 33, had inscribed a new phrase along her collarbone, which seemed to be the heartfelt message, “I do love you.”
Intriguingly, Grande’s beau, Ricky Álvarez, sports the exact phrase on his left collarbone, a matching sentiment albeit in a differing typeface.
It’s possible that their matching tattoos nod to the iconic 1965 hit by Billy Stewart, evocative of lyrics such as, “I do love you, yes, I do now,” and the affectionate plea, “Pretty little baby said, I want you to try / To understand a that I, that I, that I / I want to be your lover man.”
On August 12, Grande gave a peek at her new tattoo artwork through an Instagram post, where the phrase was enclosed in quotes. In the same post, she made her relationship with Álvarez Instagram official, sharing images that caught the couple in a warm embrace, showcasing their love to the world.
Page Six exclusively confirmed that the pair, who dated from 2015 to 2016, rekindled their romance last month following Grande’s breakup with Ethan Slater. Álvarez first joined Grande’s team as one of her backup dancers for a performance in 2014, and stayed on for her Honeymoon Tour in 2015
It’s hardly the first time Grande has commemorated an important relationship with new body art.
She and her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo have multiple matching tattoos, as did she and ex-fiancé Pete Davidson during their whirlwind relationship; most of those have since been removed or covered up.
