Authorities asked the public Thursday for help locating a 14-year-old boy who disappeared in the city of Maywood on New Year’s Day.

Anthony George Martinez was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on the 5000 block of Pine Avenue and has been described by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as a “critical missing” juvenile in a special bulletin.

Anthony has no history of running away and his family is concerned for his well-being, the Sheriff’s Department stated.

The teen stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black puffy zippered jacket and blue jeans.

Anthony also had a wooden rosary and a gold cross necklace with him. He has no known medical issues, authorities said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 323-264-4151. Those who prefer to provide information anonymously can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
