Authorities reported that a shooting incident at a Delaware hospital on Tuesday left two individuals injured, leading to a significant police presence and an ongoing search for the shooter.
The incident unfolded at Wilmington Hospital, situated in Wilmington, and has drawn the attention of local law enforcement.
Details regarding the condition of the two victims have yet to be disclosed.
“Currently, officers have identified two individuals with gunshot wounds,” stated the Wilmington Police Department in an official release. “The hospital is under lockdown, and we urge the public to steer clear of the vicinity.”

Police have identified a suspect, officials said, though additional details were not immediately released.
Scanner traffic reviewed by News Media indicated police were attempting to locate a vehicle with Delaware registration that may be connected to the shooting.Â
Authorities have not publicly identified a vehicle of interest.
ChristianaCare, which operates Wilmington Hospital, confirmed the shooting and said the campus was placed on lockdown following the incident.
“The campus is currently on lockdown, and the emergency department is on divert. We are working closely with law enforcement and taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our patients, caregivers and visitors. This is an active police investigation for a possible active shooter,” the hospital said in a statement.
Aerial footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence surrounding the hospital campus as officers responded to the incident.Â
Multiple law enforcement vehicles could be seen outside the facility and people were seen exiting the building with their hands raised.
Authorities have not released information about what led to the shooting, where on the hospital campus it occurred or a possible motive.
