Beyoncé Stuns with ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ Release: Celebrate Independence Day with Her New Music Masterpiece

As Americans prepared to celebrate the Fourth of July this Saturday, many were greeted by an unexpected treat: a new release from music icon Beyoncé.

The celebrated singer unveiled a new single called “Morning Dew (Donk),” marking her first musical release since her 2024 album “Act II: Cowboy Carter.”

According to a press statement, this single kicks off a 60-day countdown leading up to her birthday and the re-release of her influential second album, “B’DAY,” originally launched on September 4, 2006, marking two decades since its debut.

Fans, famously known as the Beyhive, have been buzzing with anticipation for her “Act III” project, which has been rumored to celebrate rock music. This mirrors her earlier tributes: 2022’s “Act I: Renaissance,” which celebrated disco, club, house, and funk, and 2024’s “Act II: Cowboy Carter,” a homage to country, southern music, and her Texas origins.

Beyoncé has skillfully teased fans with subtle clues, fueling curiosity and excitement.

She dressed as rock/funk icon Betty Davis for Halloween 2024, took part in Levi’s “Denim Cowboy” campaign last year that ended with her riding off on a motorcycle and posted a series of photos in April of her dressed in purple that many fans took to be a nod to the late rocker Prince who died in April 2016.

“Morning Dew (Donk)” will probably reinforce the theory, as in the opening lines Beyoncé mention’s Prince’s legendary 1984 film “Purple Rain” which spurred a hit single and soundtrack of the same name.

The new song, written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream and Darius Dixon, and produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams, will be included on the 20th Anniversary edition of “B’Day.”
