A Georgia fast-food employee received an unforgettable upgrade to his daily commute when his boss and co-workers surprised him with a custom Hummer SUV after months of searching for an affordable vehicle.
Antonio Gibson, who works at Slim Chickens, earned the generous gift through his commitment to the job. Despite struggling during his early days at the restaurant, he continued showing up with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
“He’s a team player, does the right thing and finishes the job 100% of the way even when no one is looking,” owner Justin Kelly wrote in a Facebook post praising Gibson.
For Kelly and the rest of the restaurant staff, rewarding Gibson felt like an easy decision.
“After talking with the crew last night, we couldn’t figure out a reason why not to do something good for him,” Kelly wrote.
He added, “After all, something I like to live my life by is ‘If you CAN do something good, you SHOULD do something good.’”

Gibson had been looking for an inexpensive used car. Instead, he was presented with the keys—and title—to a custom Hummer covered in Slim Chickens-themed details.
As his co-workers gathered around for the surprise, Kelly told him, “What we wanted to do is we want to give you some keys to the Hummer.”
Although Gibson made plenty of mistakes when he first joined the team, Kelly said he consistently found ways to contribute and support his co-workers.
Kelly recalled that Gibson even used part of his first paycheck—what he called his “big boy check”—to buy food, snacks and Red Bulls for the restaurant crew.
Video shared on Kelly’s Facebook page captures Gibson smiling from ear to ear and laughing in disbelief as he takes in the surprise.
