‘The Support Group’ is marking a significant milestone with the inauguration of their new office, celebrating 37 years dedicated to empowering Chicago’s youth. The private event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a donor appreciation segment, and a fireside chat with the co-founders. Additionally, a silent auction will take place to raise funds for youth leadership programs.
This weekend heralds the return of the 52nd annual Northwestern University Dance Marathon! Commencing at 6 p.m. on Friday, hundreds of students will dance tirelessly for 15 hours to benefit the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation and the Evanston Community Foundation. As one of the nation’s largest student-led philanthropic events, Northwestern has impressively raised more than $23 million for close to 40 different charities over the years.
In a first-time collaboration, the Villages of Homewood and Flossmoor, along with the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District, are organizing a large-scale Community Cleanup Day on Saturday to honor Earth Day. With 300 volunteers ready to roll up their sleeves, they will spread out across parks, streets, and downtown areas to enhance the beauty of the community.
