GLAAD has revealed the contenders for its 37th Annual Media Awards, with The Walt Disney Company leading the pack in nominations across all networks, platforms, and outlets.
This year, Disney amassed 30 nominations spanning various channels and services such as ABC, Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Freeform, Hulu, and National Geographic. Popular shows like “Abbott Elementary” and “Dancing with the Stars” have been recognized among others.
As the globe’s largest advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media, GLAAD is dedicated to enhancing acceptance and understanding of LGBTQ individuals through visibility in media. The organization’s Media Awards celebrate “outstanding fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues across film, television, gaming, music, podcasting, journalism, Spanish-language media, and more.”
