The second portion of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion episode premiered last night (June 28), sparking curiosity about Kelsey Swanson’s previous relationship.
Before and during her current romance with Bill L’Europa, Swanson was involved in a relationship of convenience with John Caprio, the son of the late Judge Frank Caprio. Though not exclusive, Swanson accepted the fact that Caprio had another girlfriend in Miami. The RHORI personality was content with having him for half of the year while the other woman had him for the remaining half. Swanson, however, refrains from classifying the arrangement as polyamory. During their time together, Caprio provided Swanson with accommodation in his lavish 16,000-square-foot mansion and she wasn’t required to work.

Did John Caprio date Paula Abdul?
Kelsey Swanson confirmed that John Caprio did, in fact, date Paula Abdul. She mentioned this relationship occurred before her own time with Caprio, adding that she even “used to stay at Paula’s house with [Caprio] whenever [they] traveled to Los Angeles.”
It’s clear that Swanson was telling the truth during the intense reunion. The Boston Globe mentioned that Abdul and Caprio were “dating” back in 2012. Although it was not a very public relationship, the two were seen celebrating the singer’s 50th birthday together and in other locations around Rhode Island.
Adul did form a close bond to Caprio’s father, Judge Frank Caprio, and even served as an honorary pallbearer at the judge’s funeral.

Yes! Although the two are no longer together, their relationship ended very amicably. In Season 1, Episode 6 of the series, Swanson revealed that Caprio was still paying for her health insurance and car insurance.
