An Iraqi national, accused of masterminding nearly 20 terrorist attacks throughout Europe and plotting assaults on Jewish establishments in the U.S., has been extradited to New York to confront federal terrorism charges. This follows what the FBI has labeled a significant international operation.
Since March, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi, along with his network, has allegedly orchestrated 18 attacks under the banner of Ashab al-Yamin, a pro-Iranian Islamist faction. This group has claimed responsibility for assaults on Jewish schools, synagogues, and charitable organizations in Europe, as well as targeting American, Israeli, and Iranian opposition interests, per FBI reports.
FBI Director Kash Patel remarked on the operation’s success, stating, “The recent capture and extradition of Mohammad Al-Saadi, a key figure behind widespread global terrorism, underscores our administration’s commitment to holding terrorists accountable.” He commended the FBI agents, investigators, CIRG tactical units, and interagency collaborators for their exceptional execution of this mission.
Al-Saadi was detained and is set to face terrorism charges in the United States, with allegations of having plotted attacks across Europe targeting U.S. and Israeli interests.
Patel extended his gratitude to international partners, highlighting the pivotal role played by Ambassador Tom Barrack in leading this coordinated effort, which successfully concluded with Al-Saadi’s extradition to the U.S.
On March 9, Al-Saadi allegedly posted a message on his Telegram account with the logo of Ashab al-Yamin, calling on warriors of Islam to engage in jihad, the FBI said.

Al-Saadi has posted Ashab al-Yamin-branded propaganda videos claiming responsibility for the attacks, including video recordings from attacks against Jewish places or persons in Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, according to federal prosecutors.
The FBI said it took action after learning that Al-Saadi was planning to expand Ashab al-Yamin’s operations to the United States. He allegedly directed other individuals in an attempt to coordinate terrorist attacks in the United States against synagogues and other Jewish institutions across the country.
Al-Saadi has also allegedly publicly threatened President Donald Trump and his family, authorities said.

He was expected to appear in a New York federal courtroom on Friday on six terrorism charges, including six terrorism charges in New York, including conspiring to provide material support to terrorist groups.
