A 12-year-old girl from Florida is confronting serious charges after allegedly using a classmate’s account to send a menacing threat to her elementary school, according to authorities.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office reports that the girl faces felony charges for making written or electronic threats to kill and for the unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

This past weekend, detectives were alerted to a disturbing written threat that had been sent to a teacher at Louise S. McInnis Elementary School.

The message not only targeted the teacher but also included a threat to “shoot up” the school on the final day of classes, as detailed by the sheriff’s office.

Although the threatening message was dispatched from an account belonging to a 12-year-old boy, detectives discovered that it was actually sent by his former girlfriend, who had access to his login credentials, according to officials.

The sheriff’s office posted a video of the arrest on Facebook, garnering more than one million views.

In the video, deputies could be seen leading the handcuffed, green-haired tween with a septum piercing from a patrol car to the jail.

She was then shackled and escorted into a jail cell, where she was left sitting on a bench.

The elementary school did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
