In a gripping scene captured on surveillance footage, a mother in Los Angeles took swift action against a group of potential burglars by crashing her Mercedes-Benz into their getaway vehicle.
The attempted burglary unfolded on a Saturday afternoon at the family’s residence.
The mother, who prefers to remain anonymous, had stepped out briefly to grab coffee, leaving her three young children and their grandmother at home.
She had barely left the neighborhood when she received a frantic call from the grandmother, who reported that intruders were on the premises. The sounds of alarm from inside the house frightened off the would-be burglars.
Reacting quickly, the mother made a sharp U-turn in her Mercedes and sped back home, arriving just in time to crash into the suspects’ sedan before they could make their escape.

Video shows the Mercedes hit the side of the sedan and jump the curb. Three suspects could be seen running from the area after the crash.

Los Angeles police searched the suspects’ car and found a wallet with a driver’s license, a red crowbar and a walkie talkie tuned to the LAPD’s radio scanner.
As of late Monday, no one is in custody.
