AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — A man accused of abducting and murdering a 19-year-old college student will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
On Thursday, Judge Tom Young handed down a life sentence to Ibraheem Yazeed for the killing of Aniah Blanchard. Blanchard’s remains were discovered in a wooded area near Shorter on November 25, 2019. The young woman, originally from Homewood, was a student at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika. She was last spotted at a Chevron gas station in Auburn on October 23, 2019, where surveillance footage captured Yazeed, then 29, at the scene simultaneously.
