On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed a series of recent arrests conducted by federal agents, specifically targeting undocumented immigrants with convictions for violent and sexual offenses.

Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended several individuals on Thursday. These individuals had previously been convicted of serious crimes, including child rape, sexual assault involving minors, methamphetamine trafficking, and aggravated assault, as detailed by DHS.

“Despite facing challenges such as doxing, threats, harassment, and an alarming rise of over 1,300% in assaults against them, ICE remains steadfast in pursuing criminal illegal aliens, including pedophiles, violent sex offenders, and drug traffickers,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, the outgoing Assistant Secretary of DHS, in an official statement.

Among those detained was Michelle Rodriguez-Berrio, an undocumented immigrant from Colombia. She had been previously convicted in Salt Lake City, Utah, for engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Earlier this month, a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital that ICE officers are “facing a coordinated campaign of violence against them.”

According to DHS, assaults against ICE personnel have increased by more than 1,300%, death threats have risen 8,000%, and vehicle attacks have climbed 3,200%.

“Nearly 70% of all ICE arrests are of illegal aliens convicted or charged of a crime in the U.S.,” McLaughlin added. “If you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”

DHS did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
