NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities arrested a high school educator on Thursday following allegations of repeated sexual encounters with a minor. The North Port police uncovered these incidents after investigating the claims made against the teacher.

Upon learning of the accusations involving 51-year-old David Sommer, Sarasota County Schools acted swiftly, involving law enforcement immediately, as confirmed by Superintendent Terry Connor.
