JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In a concerted effort led by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a significant sweep resulted in the arrest of 29 individuals, comprising 24 men and five women, over the course of a strategic, three-day multi-agency crackdown. This initiative specifically targeted those suspected of using the internet for illicit solicitation activities.
This operation, known as “Operation County Line,” was executed in collaboration with several other agencies, including the Intercept Task Force and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. The primary focus was on monitoring and apprehending individuals involved in soliciting or offering sexual services through various websites.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office highlighted that while prostitution is technically considered a misdemeanor, it remains a grave concern due to its role in fuelling human trafficking networks and its potential to spread infectious diseases.
An official list was released, documenting the identities and ages of those apprehended during the operation. This emphasizes the breadth and effectiveness of the joint enforceable effort.
The public is encouraged to stay vigilant. If you witness or suspect any form of prostitution or related suspicious activities, whether online or in-person, you should report directly to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500. For broader concerns, the 24/7 National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 is also available for immediate assistance.
