Observations from Jets’ training camp on Friday:

Field of Dreams

Justin Fields had a standout practice, effectively maneuvering both inside and outside the pocket, while displaying strong rapport with Garrett Wilson and Mason Taylor during a streak of 12 consecutive successful completions.

Lax Security

The defense got some pressure on Fields, but was a little lax in coverage, with receivers consistently open.

Caught My Eye

Rookie wide receiver Arian Smith had a notable performance, securing a touchdown from Tyrod Taylor on a crossing pattern and making an additional significant play along the sideline with a deep pass from Fields.

Injury Report

Quinnen Williams (calf) and John Simpson (back) both sat out Friday’s practice and will be sidelined for a week or two, although coach Aaron Glenn emphasized that their absences are merely precautionary. Malachi Moore was also absent from practice due to an oblique strain. Running back Braelon Allen returned after missing two sessions with knee soreness.
