Johnny Depp’s Stunning Transformation Wows at Comic-Con Event

In a move that left fans in awe, Johnny Depp made a jaw-dropping appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, stunning the crowd with his transformation into Ebenezer Scrooge.

Known for his eclectic roles, the “Sleepy Hollow” star graced the annual fan event in complete character, donning a top hat and a thick overcoat, all while wielding a cane. This striking ensemble perfectly captured the essence of the notorious miser from “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol.”

Depp was nearly unrecognizable, hidden beneath a fluffy brow, uneven grey stubble, and extended sideburns, adding to the authenticity of his unexpected appearance.

In captivating imagery, he was caught peering through a windowpane crusted with frost, and in another shot, he stepped onto a set resembling a snowy entrance, stirring imagination and excitement.

The 63-year-old actor was also seen warmly greeted by fellow cosplayers dressed as characters from some of his most beloved films. Among these were Willy Wonka from the 2005 film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Edward Scissorhands from the 1990 cult classic, and Captain Jack Sparrow from the grand “Pirates of the Caribbean” series spanning 2003 to 2017.

Elsewhere at the pop culture convention, he took the stage at the legendary Hall H as Ebenezer, carrying a candlestick burned down to a short stub.

The trailer for the Ti West-directed film dropped Thursday online as well.

The actor was previously photographed on the London set of the film, looking equally as unrecognizable in costume as the Charles Dickens character.

In the February photos, Depp wore a navy blue robe and a cap covering his ears, appearing alongside co-star Andrea Riseborough — clad in head-to-toe white — who plays the Ghost of Christmas Past.

“Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol” also stars Ian McKellen, Daisy Ridley, Sam Claflin and Rupert Grint.

The film is set for a Nov. 13 release.

The role is Depp’s comeback to mainstream Hollywood movies after he won a defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022.

He’d sued Heard for $50 million, claiming she defamed him in a Washington Post op-ed about abuse in 2018.

Ultimately, the “Aquaman” actress was ordered to pay Depp $15 million in — though she was also awarded $2 million for a counterclaim.

They settled the case that year, with Heard agreeing to pay her ex-husband $1 million.

Heard has since relocated to Spain, where she’s raising her children: Oonagh Paige, 5, and twins Ocean and Agnes, 1.

Prior to his legal showdown with Heard in the US, he lost a 2020 libel case against the UK Sun, which he sued for labeling him a “wife-beater” in a headline based on Heard’s allegations.
