The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said foul play is suspected in the person’s death.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A SWAT team found a person dead inside of a home in Jacksonville’s Hogans Creek area early Friday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sgt. Robbie Henson said around 3 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 800 block of West 18th Street regarding an “altercation.”
When they arrived, Henson said officers were told that a “possible suspect” in the altercation was inside the home and “maybe a witness.”
According to Henson, officers then surrounded the home, while a SWAT team responded.
After the SWAT team arrived on scene and gave “extensive attempts” to have everyone inside the home exit it, Henson said SWAT cleared the house. During this time, the person was found dead, Henson said.
“At this time, we don’t know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of those involved,” Henson said.
