Juno steps into the spotlight.
On Tuesday, Juno Temple turned heads at the New York City premiere of “Ted Lasso” Season 4, airing on Apple TV. The actress made a nostalgic yet fashionable statement on the red carpet, sporting a vintage piece from Gucci’s archives—a choice that fashion aficionados recognized immediately.
This iconic outfit was first donned by none other than Jennifer Lopez nearly 25 years ago, underscoring the timeless appeal of stylish ensembles that seamlessly transcend decades.
Crafted by designer Tom Ford, the ensemble showcases a daring lace-up bodice, complete with a dramatic front slit and an eye-catching back cutout.
Temple selected a striking turquoise version of the silky design, complementing her look with curly, half-up blonde tresses.
She carried a crystal-studded Judith Leiber bag ($6,995), shaped like a hotdog with mustard on top, and added bling with an impressive diamond choker from Jacob & Co. that was crafted of emerald-cut stones woven together in a lattice construction.
Peeking out just a tad from beneath her weightless skirt were a pair of sky-high platform heels, also covered in crystals, ensuring she sparkled from tip to toe.
Lopez, meanwhile, went with a chocolate brown version of the same design for the 2003 “Gigli” premiere, piling her hair up into a bun and skipping a necklace in favor of chandelier earrings. She kept the nude illusion going with nearly invisible heels.
Temple owns her look outright, which is rare for a red carpet appearance. In fact, she teased the gown on “Live with Kelly and Mark” almost three years ago, calling it her best vintage find to-date.
Calling herself an “abolute vintage junkie,” she recounted trolling eBay when she found “this extraordinary … turquoise floor length gown.”
Temple went on to exuberantly describe the look in detail, adding, “it looks like you’ve been wrapped in blue silk and then this blue chiffon …” she trails off, hands moving around her body as she explains the cut and material used.
And, what’s more, she paid a cool $180 for the now-famous look. “It’s my favorite … ever,” she said of Ford’s Gucci era.
The 37-year-old actress adds her latest look to a long slew of vintage frocks she’s rocked over the years.
Last week, she stepped out at the LA premiere wearing a vintage 2001 Roberto Cavalli dress, also carrying a whimsical Judith Lieber bag ($4,295) that, this time, was aptly shaped like a soccer ball.
Her on-screen character, Keeley Jones, boasts a similarly impressive wardrobe herself.
Described to Who What Wear as “bonkers,” Temple explains, “I don’t know if I will ever have an opportunity to inhabit someone like that again. What fun it is to embody someone who says yes to everything, whether it’s wearing an animal-print suit or launching their own PR firm.”
Continuing, “We could all learn a little from Keeley’s determination and eternal optimism.”
