The Department of Justice said the threats were made while the suspect was in Spain.
ORLANDO, Fla. — A Massachusetts man will spend nearly a decade in federal prison after threatening U.S. Rep. Randy Fine and his family in social media posts, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
According to the DOJ, Edwin Guerrero, 26, used a social media account from Aug. 10 through Aug. 15, 2024, to publish “a series of anti-semitic posts” targeting Fine while he was in Spain.
One post included an image of a deceased man with a head injury and warned that Fine’s children “would suffer the same fate.”
After Guerrero returned to the United States, investigators interviewed him, and he acknowledged creating the posts, the DOJ said. Court records indicate that a search of his phone also uncovered “search history containing antisemitic and anti-Israel content.”
Guerrero was arrested in November 2025 and charged with making interstate threats to injure. He pleaded guilty in March 2026.
Under the sentence announced by the DOJ, Guerrero will serve nine years and 11 months in prison and pay a $15,000 fine.
“Threats of intimidation or harm against public officials or anyone for their political or religious beliefs will not be tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. “We will take such acts seriously and prosecute these offenders to the fullest extent of the law.”

In August 2026, an Ohio man was arrested on election night after allegedly threatening to “murder the congressman” and his family.
Fine is seeking reelection to the U.S. House, where he represents Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
