Massachusetts Mother Lindsay Clancy’s Lawyer Denies She’ll Testify About Homicidal Thoughts in Ex-Husband’s Lawsuit Against Doctors

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney has rejected a claim by Patrick Clancy’s lawyer that she plans to testify in a civil lawsuit against her former healthcare providers, calling the assertion untrue.

At a hearing Wednesday in Norfolk County Superior Court, attorney Howard Cooper said he expected Lindsay Clancy to take the stand in Patrick Clancy’s lawsuit against the hospitals and medical providers who treated her.

Patrick and Lindsay Clancy have filed separate lawsuits against hospitals and healthcare providers, alleging that shortcomings in Lindsay’s treatment played a role in the deaths of their three children, Callan, Cora and Dawson.

“We believe that Lindsay Clancy, once her Fifth Amendment issues are resolved one way or the other, will testify that she told these defendants explicitly that she had homicidal ideation, that she was worried about something awful happening to her kids,” Cooper told the court.

In a statement obtained by News Media, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, said his client has never indicated that she would testify. He also disputed the claim that she told healthcare providers she had homicidal thoughts involving her children.

“It has come to my attention that counsel for Patrick Clancy represented to the court in his civil case that my client, Lindsay Clancy, will testify about statements she made to her healthcare providers,” Reddington said. “Lindsay Clancy never told any of her healthcare providers that she harbored homicidal ideation toward her children. She never indicated that she intended to testify in Mr. Clancy’s lawsuit, and no one acting for her ever represented that she would.”

“Mr. Clancy’s counsel does not speak for Lindsay Clancy,” Reddington added.

Lawyers for the hospitals and healthcare providers have asked the court to dismiss the lawsuits, arguing that Lindsay Clancy never disclosed homicidal thoughts to the medical professionals treating her.

Clancy, 36, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children, Cora, Dawson and Callan. All three children were younger than 6 and were found strangled inside the family’s home in January 2023.
